"Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward" (64:15)

This verse is a reminder of the responsibility we carry as parents. If we neglect their upbringing, their physical and psychological needs, their education, we incur sin.

Since our interests take root in childhood, a foundation set away from religion, in fictional and superficial books and stories, is likely to lead to an adulthood devoid of a spiritual connection.

This can become a source of sins– slipping into arrogance, ignoring their prayers, or even adopting minor forms of shirk. It’s easy for little habits to grow into bigger behaviors when there isn’t guidance, love, and faith to direct them.

But if we nurture a love for Islam and beneficial knowledge early on, it often blossoms into a lifelong passion. A foundation set young creates a future grounded in faith. And when we do that, our children can become a source of endless reward. Teaching them values, etiquettes, prayers, Tawheed isn’t just setting them up for success – it’s creating a lasting Sadaqah e Jaariyah for us too, even after we pass away.

That’s the heart behind my book, "Tawheed: My Promise to Allah". To nurture not only a love for Allah, but a love for beneficial knowledge, one that I pray lasts a lifetime for the little readers and their parents.
